Commercial interiors and construction

Organic growth for fit-out and construction firms

Facilities managers, procurement teams and developers build their shortlists before they pick up the phone. We make sure your firm is on that list, in Google and in AI answers, with pages that show the projects you actually deliver.

Who this is for

Fit-out, refurbishment, construction and specialist contractors. Office and warehouse fit-out firms, mezzanine and partitioning specialists, M&E contractors, shopfitters and refurbishment teams. Firms that win most work through referrals, frameworks and tenders, and want more of the enquiries that start with a search.

We work with businesses across the UK in many sectors. This page shows how our Organic Presence service applies to contractors, and where we’ve already done it.

How your buyers build a shortlist

A facilities manager with a new warehouse lease doesn’t search for “contractor”. They search for the job. “Warehouse fit-out Midlands.” “Office refurbishment while occupied.” “Mezzanine floor installer near me.” Then they open four or five websites and look for evidence.

They want to know if you’ve done this type of project before, for whom and at what scale. Procurement teams go further and check accreditations, reviews, case studies and how long you’ve been trading.

More of that research now happens inside AI assistants. A developer asks ChatGPT or Google AI Mode for fit-out contractors in a region. The assistant asks follow-up questions about project type, location and budget, then names firms. It leans on clear service pages, reviews and directory listings to decide who to name.

A website with one services page and a gallery rarely makes that list. A page for each project type, backed by case studies with names and numbers, gives the buyer and the assistant a reason to pick you.

What wins a place on the shortlist

Each piece we build answers a question your buyer is already asking.

Sector and project-type pages

A page for warehouse fit-out, another for office refurbishment, another for mezzanines or education projects. Each one matches a real search, shows relevant work and says plainly what you deliver, where and for whom.

Project case studies that read like evidence

Client, location, size, programme, constraints and outcome. Procurement teams scan for these details. AI assistants quote them. A photo gallery with captions does neither job.

Google Business Profile and reviews

Correct categories, service areas, real project photos and regular updates. Reviews from clients and main contractors carry weight with buyers and with AI assistants, which use review counts to choose between firms.

Careers and recruitment pages

Site managers, estimators and trades search for jobs the same way clients search for contractors. A proper careers section brings applicants direct and shows clients you have the people to deliver.

Technical health

Fast pages, correct business markup, UK English settings and clean indexing. Small faults here quietly tell Google the wrong story about who you are and where you work.

AI assistants now name specialist contractors

Ask Google AI Mode which agency a commercial fit-out company should use and it names small, specialist firms, each with a page that matches the question. The same logic applies when a buyer asks an assistant for contractors. Firms with a clear page for the work, a track record it can cite and reviews to back it up give the assistant something to name.

That suits a regional contractor. You don’t need to outrank national firms on broad terms. You need to be the clearest, best evidenced answer to the specific follow-up question. We track a set of prompts each month so you can see when assistants start naming you. Read more about AI search optimisation.

Recruitment is part of the job

Many contractors feel the hiring pinch as much as the sales one. Good site managers, estimators and skilled trades are hard to find, and agency fees add up fast.

Your website can carry some of that load. A careers hub with individual role pages, photos of real sites and a short application route brings in candidates searching for jobs in your area. Job posting markup helps roles show in Google’s job listings. A client checking your capacity also sees a firm investing in its team.

What we do month to month

Organic Presence is a monthly service. The same small team runs it from the first review onwards.

1

Review

We check where you show up today on Google and in AI answers for the project types you want more of, audit your site and listings, and agree priorities.

2

Plan

We set out the 90 days that will move things most. Usually that means fixing technical faults first, then building project-type pages and the case studies that support them.

3

Run

Each month we write and publish pages, turn finished projects into case studies, update your Google Business Profile, ask for reviews, keep the site fast and secure, and fix what we find.

4

Report

A plain monthly report. Search visibility, enquiries from organic search, review count, AI prompts where you’re named, and what we’re doing next.

Pricing

What it costs

Organic Presence plans start from £395 a month plus VAT, on a short minimum term. The right plan depends on how many project types you want to target. Full plan details are on the Organic Presence page. If your website can’t carry the growth, we can rebuild it, and every build includes an initial period of Organic Presence.

Client

Company Image Commercial Interiors

Company Image is a commercial office and warehouse fit-out, refurbishment and maintenance contractor based in Ibstock, Leicestershire, founded in 2009. Their clients include Amazon, DHL and Donington Park. We built and maintain their WordPress website. In June 2026 we cleared a 21 GB log file that was filling their server, switched the site to UK English, removed incorrect article markup from 45 service pages and added GeneralContractor business markup. We wrote search descriptions for all 17 service pages, compressed and resized images, and hid thin archive pages from search.

Questions contractors ask us

Can’t see your question? Call 01983 216222 or send us a message.

Most start with a search for the specific job, such as warehouse fit-out or office refurbishment in their region, then compare four or five websites. More now ask AI assistants like ChatGPT or Google AI Mode for recommendations. Both reward contractors with a clear page for each project type, case studies with real details, and a solid set of reviews.

Yes, if you want to be found for that work. A single services page can’t match every search. A dedicated page for warehouse fit-out, office refurbishment or mezzanine installation gives Google and AI assistants a clear answer to a specific question. Each page should link to relevant case studies and explain where you work, what you deliver and for whom.

Yes. AI assistants recommend businesses by asking follow-up questions about industry, location and budget, then naming firms that match. They lean on clear service pages, reviews and directory listings. A regional contractor with well evidenced project pages can be named for specific questions even when national firms dominate broad searches. We track a set of prompts monthly to measure it.

They do. Procurement teams check reviews as part of due diligence, and AI assistants use review counts and ratings when choosing which firms to name. A steady flow of genuine reviews from clients and main contractors, alongside an accurate Google Business Profile with real project photos, strengthens both your local listing and your chances of being recommended.

Yes. Site managers, estimators and trades search for jobs online, often by role and location. A careers section with individual role pages and job posting markup can bring applicants direct, which reduces reliance on recruitment agencies. It also shows prospective clients that you have the people and the stability to deliver their project.

Technical fixes, such as correcting business markup or indexing problems, can show in Search Console within weeks. New project-type pages and case studies usually take several months to build visibility and start producing enquiries. That’s why Organic Presence runs on a short minimum term, with a plain report every month so you can see what’s moving.
